What do Delegates do?
The House of Delegates (HOD) consists of AARC members elected or appointed by each State Society that bring forth State issues with national implications to the attention of the AARC Executive Office (EO). This is done through a formal resolutions process and through requests for information. Additionally, the HOD participates in the AARC budget process and in determining the AARC Bylaws.
Resolutions are formal requests for action by the AARC that are submitted by the Boards of Directors of the State Societies to the HOD. The HOD may approve, amend, or disapprove resolutions. The AARC may accept, deny, or refer for further information the resolutions that have been passed by the HOD. For examples of resolutions that are currently before the HOD or AARC and those that have been previously considered, please click on the link below:
Occasionally, the AARC will send resolutions back to the HOD for clarification. The HOD, in turn, asks for State input. Your participation in this process is very important. Your Board of Directors can only represent your wishes if we know how you feel. This site will post requests for your input. We ask that you complete and return input forms below to your Delegates at delegate@colosrc.org.
Current issues:
The next HOD meeting will be held in July prior to the 2008 AARC Summer Forum. Issues will be posted below prior to this meeting, and members will be able to send any comments, questions, or concerns to the delegates.
